3 Patti variations: Muflis, AK47, Joker and more
“3 Patti” is just another name for Teen Patti, and families have been bending its rules for decades. Each variation below changes one thing: which hands win, or which cards are wild. Learn the classic Teen Patti rules first and these take a minute each.

In short: Muflis flips the rankings so the lowest hand wins. AK47 makes every ace, king, four and seven wild. Joker games pick a random wild card each round. Everything else (boot, blind, seen, show) stays the same.

House rules differ, so agree on the details before the deal, especially for the point-based games.
Muflis (lowball)
Everything is upside down. The worst classic hand wins. A high card of 5-3-2 in mixed suits is the best Muflis hand, and a trail of aces is the worst. Sequences and colours become bad hands, because they rank high in the classic game.
Example: you hold 7-4-2 of mixed suits and your opponent holds 9-9-3. In classic Teen Patti the pair wins. In Muflis your 7-high wins.
AK47
Every ace, king, four and seven is a joker. If you hold any of them, they become whatever card helps you most. Two wild cards plus anything else is already a trail, so trails turn up all the time and the betting gets bigger. Keep the boot small when you play AK47 at home.
Joker and Lowest Joker
In Joker, one card is turned face up after the deal (or the app picks one). Every card of that rank is wild for the round. In Lowest Joker, each player’s lowest card is wild, along with any other card of the same rank in that player’s hand. Everyone ends up with a wild card, so the hands are much closer.
Hukam
The classic rules, plus a trump suit (usually spades) or one “hukam” card that decides ties. It mainly settles arguments when two players show the same hand.
999
A points game. Number cards count at face value, aces count as 1, and picture cards and tens count as zero. Add your three cards. The hand whose total ends closest to 9 wins, so 9, 19 and 29 are the best totals.
Example: 6 + 3 + K = 9, a perfect hand. 8 + 8 + 4 = 20, which counts as 0, the worst.
Which variation should beginners try?
Start with classic, then Muflis. Muflis teaches you the rankings all over again because you have to think backwards. Leave AK47 and Joker games until everyone at the table knows the classic hands well, because the wild cards make hands jump in value and new players lose track quickly.

Is 3 Patti the same as Teen Patti?
Yes. “Teen” is Hindi for three and “patti” means cards, so 3 Patti, Teen Patti and teen patii all name the same game.
What is the best hand in Muflis?
5-3-2 in mixed suits. Rankings are reversed, so the hand that would be the worst in classic Teen Patti wins.
Which cards are wild in AK47?
All four aces, kings, fours and sevens, so sixteen cards in total. Each one can stand in for any card you need.
Do sequences count in Muflis?
They’re the opposite of helpful. Because sequences rank high in the classic game, they rank low in Muflis.
