Responsible gaming: keep it a game
Teen Patti is meant to be fun: a few rounds with family, some laughter, matchsticks changing hands. When it stops feeling like that, these steps help.
Free help, 24 hours: call Tele-MANAS on 14416 (or 1-800-891-4416), the Government of India’s mental health helpline. It’s confidential and available in many Indian languages.
Simple limits that work
- Decide your limit before you start. A time limit, a chip limit, or both. Stop when you reach it.
- Never chase losses. Raising stakes to win back what you lost is how small losses become big ones.
- Use your phone’s tools. Android’s Digital Wellbeing (Settings → Digital Wellbeing) can set a daily timer for any app. On iPhone, use Screen Time → App Limits.
- Block purchases. Turn on purchase authentication in Google Play, or require approval for in-app purchases on iPhone.
- Don’t play when you’re upset, tired or after drinking.
- Keep games away from children. All Teen Patti apps are for adults (18+).
Warning signs
- Playing longer, or with more, than you planned.
- Hiding how much you play from family.
- Borrowing money, or using money meant for bills, to play.
- Feeling restless or irritable when you try to stop.
- Thinking about the game most of the day.
If two or more of these sound familiar, it’s a good time to take a break and talk to someone.
Taking a break
Uninstall the app for a week or a month. Log out and remove saved payment methods. Tell someone you trust that you’re taking a break. They can help you stick to it.
Money games and the law
Online money games are banned in India under the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025. Apps that still take deposits operate outside the law, and money put into them may not come back. Read is Teen Patti legal?
